What Can You Do To Make Your Art Fill In A Gap During Social Distancing

Amy Carter Ishmael / Comment on this

WHen They Are Mad, Sad, or Glad, your firends and family, don't always have the ability to walk over to you even if you are at home.  No shoulder to cry on during difficult times.  I should know, I lost my father in July on the 17th.  I say lost, yet I believe it more conforting to say he entered the next realm and is out of pain and at peace.

I couldn't go see him when I was notified, he went to the hospital for emergency surgery.  My social distance from him and my family in Virginia, especially my mother, was difficult at least for m  My siblings dug in and supported my mother, and held vigile one at a time one he was moved to hospice, that same week.

I had sent my mom and dad a painting to display with no frame, shortly before He got to feeling really bad.  They loved it.  No frame needed.  It was bigger than the new little portable paintings I'm creating to help others bridge the gap and show love across the miles, yet hey...their eye sight wasn't as good as it used to be.

The point is, in these times something grander than a card, may sometimes be needed.  Grander than an email card, grander than a text, to show you truely were thinking about the person that was either Mad, Sad or Glad, or grieving, or lonely.

Look at your business.  See how you can do something, anything really, if done with love, to help bridge the gap for people that are at a social distance this year.
