#5 Design Trend Quote From 1st Dibs, "The Study", is that "Cobalt Blue and Tan Are On The Rise"

Amy Carter Ishmael / Comment on this

Who new that when I painted some of my largest works to date last year and saw that they were predominantly Cobalt Blue with some added shades of Emerald Green in their waters, that they would be hanging in a local gallery the same month that "The Study"

by 1st Dibs deemed their colors trendy, in the release of "Interior Design Trends 2022", "The Study" by 1st Dibs, a popular design authority.

Apparently, the #5 top trend for 2022, is that, "Cobalt Blue and Tan Are Rising" in the Interior Design world, and homes across America and Great Brittan.  Emerald Green was the top color, along with white, both scoring 24% out of a 30% scale.

Emerald green has been a mainstay in my home for 20 years, so it's about time I became trendy.  My Emerald Green carpet reminds me of Christmas, Emeralds, and Soft Green Grass, all at once.

The majority of people staying at home during 2020 and beyond by moving their work to their home base, must also "be hankering" for a bit of the green!  Plants in the home and features of emerald green on furnishings, in artwork are valued at 24% on a 30% scale.  Cobalt Blue and Tan, are rising at 17 % and 18% percent respectively.

The Study, indicated that 77% of respondents owned their own business and the majority had 6 projects a year.  Do you know of a client that may need some art from a local artist?  Perhaps a project that includes a new nursery or a revamp of a home office?

My new Children's Collection that I began in November of 2021 features a few adorable collectables that feature the colors tan, white and hints of blue.  Also, in that collection is my Toddler painting, titled: Bashful Boy".  These are on my website https://www.amycarterishmael.com and I'd love to make connection with more professionals interested in providing design services for their clients.

However, that wonderful Cobalt Blue!  Expansive, mesmerizing as the waves they often evoke...those paintings can currently be viewed only at my gallery in Waxahachie.  I say mine, because I and about 65-70 other artists are gallery partners at the co-op, named Art On The Square, in Waxahachie, Texas.

The show, "Baby It's Cold Outside", was hung on January 7th, and my largest paintings to date are expanses of Cobalt Blue and Emerald Greens.  One painting is 36" x 48" and features a small ship in roaring waves, aptly titled, "By The Grace of God".

A second smaller painting, of 16" x 20" features a Lighthouse in a much calmer yet still expansive body of water, beckoning travelers home to shore.

A third painting, and my first Abstract Painting viewable at A.R.T. On The Square, measures 24" x 48".

Abstract Art for me is in the minority of my works, yet this piece having been viewed only once in 2021, at thegallery8680, now hangs in the A.R.T. On The Square gallery until Feb. 28th, so don't let that go by without a peek in.  Abstract Art is listed in "The Study" by 1st Dibbs, as the top style of art that designers will use more of in 2022, so I'm glad most of my current abstracts tend to be both in Cobalt and in Larger Scale.

A second Cobalt and White Abstract that was viewed at thegallery8680, in 2021, is available by contacting the artist, and measures 25" x 24" and is an Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas.  Viewable by Appointment.

"Some of my new children's collection that features Tan, may be viewed on Oil Painters of America Fall On-Line Showcase.  There are a plethora of good options there in Cobalt.  Our organization for 2022, has begun to collect a 50% commission on sales their website (Oil Painters of America) generates from the show, so be sure to let an artist know if you saw it there first.  The Show is over as of Jan. 5th, yet the winners have not been posted as of today Jan. 15 2022."

Gearing Up for New Beginings

Amy Carter Ishmael / Comment on this

Happy New Year to all of the art collectors out there who are gearing up for the many types of New Beginnings that we tend to have this time of Year.

A new way to exercise.

A New way to look at Finances.

A New way to invest in our "me" time.

A new child or grandchild to love on.

A new Relationship or Friendship.

A new way to do business.

A new way to communicate via distances.

A new Hobby to share with a family member.

We had to experience some of these things since the turn of the Century through us for a loop, pretty early on and then again in 2020.  We are getting the hang of the word flexibility in work and play.

in 2022, I will be experiencing some of these new beginnings as well.  I have last quarter experienced one child leaving home for his first non-college digs.  This quarter, I will have a son, who is making the move back to a college dorm after over a year and a half at home.  I hope his timing goes well...I will be using the opportunity to increase my work from home time.

In thinking of new beginnings, artistically, I will be adding a Watercolor focus on my smaller notecards in my gallery and looking at licensing those watercolor notecards.  I will continue to sperate out my fine art collector paintings from any that I seek to place on products to maintain integrality, for my collectors.

I will seek to build upon the 2021 success in the secondary market for my small pastel paintings, after having my first one sell at auction on Carnival Breeze.

I would like to participate in some exploration of regional shows for artists of a national organization I belong to, as well as participate in some of the secondary market art sales through auctions that they have planned for 2022.  I would recommend joining the new way a collector can buy art reasonably, by looking at living artists selling via major auction sites like BidSquare, and through dealers on 1st Dibs, if they are wise enough to carry the living artists, as well in their inventory.

Yet. I will leave you with an image that is titled, "New Beginnings", and is for that new nursery, you want to help decorate fr a newborn child.  10" x 10" oil on Board, of a collectable Beeny Baby from 1995, and a grandmother's handiwork on cloth.
