Amy Carter-Ishmael Fine Art Studio: Creating Unique Artworks For Your Home or Office
Offering Fine Art and Fine Art Services with His Grace
An American Painter, since the 1980's, Amy went into vintage antiques, Design and Art, as an entrepreneur, before ever studying art.
I've always been passionate about the arts. Growing up around antiques, and going to art and antique markets, with my genealogist mother, I developed an early eye for quality.
Later I studied 2-D, and 3-D design, printmaking, and sculpture. I've since moved my creative endeavors to my home studio, and have found that I love the immediacy of painting. My Early Period of Painting is 1986-2020.
My work includes a lot of natural settings, as I often concentrate on Landscapes and Waterscapes, because of that, Climate Change is often observed.
Although I studied art 2010-2013, I have been and am being self taught in painting, by His Grace, and being environmentally and health conscious, I prefer working with less toxic materials and methods. Many of my oil paintings are done without additives, and some of my pastels are unsprayed, and are close to pure pigment with very little binder in the pastels.
I participated in almost a decade of shows before joining any regional painting organizations, yet I began joining professional printmaking organizations in 2011. Being self taught made the painting journey slower yet I love the journey of seeing colors in the landscapes and skyscapes, riverscapes and seascapes. In Design, I learned more about those colors.
I am a member of several art clubs or societies, that I waited to join until later in life, and enjoy being active, both in studio and En Plein Air. Painting the parks and protected areas around us in both is just one way I enjoy being active.
