You see I have been exhibited in them before, yet hadn't yet sold one so I figured, I needed to exit for a year or so and practice. The Spillway, painted on Museum board is my first one I thought might be good enough for a show. What do you think? As an Emerging Level Artist in my career, I must constantly pay attention to feedback. In fact, I asked an International Fine Art Appraiser for feedback on my retail pricing, and then sought confirmation when I didn't sell within a year, as to what exactly might someone pay at a competitive art auction? When a collector is just buying for themselves, many would like the most competitive price. When someone is buying for resale to their gallery audience, it's the same way. Yet for some reason, when we are buying for a gift to a loved one, or for a cause we feel strongly about, consumers will pay more. Then there are also those people that get caught up in the excitement of a huge auction like Soetheby's, those buyers of Art, I've not run into yet. The competitive art auction I was blessed to be a part of recently, was David Dike Fine Art Auction. His auctioneer sold one of my small 8" x 10" paintings, so I found that, "sell it to a gallery" price per square inch. Now the question is, does framing help sell small paintings? Breezy Evening at Lavonia Park is a minimalist painting, that I decided to frame. What do you think? Do you like to buy and frame yourself for your home? Or do you prefer to pay someone else to frame? or do you enjoy artist framed pieces? Framing is a skill all on it's own, yet combined by the artist as a holiday discount, does it make you see the value? I'd like to know what your thought are on these topics. It's rare for us to be able to frame for a customer and not charge for it. Is it appreciated when we can, or are willing to? Or would you rather select your own framing? {{FASO_DOMAIN_VISIBLE}} {{AM_COMPANY_NAME}} {{AM_COMPANY_ADDRESS}} {{AM_CSZ}} {{AM_COUNTRY}} Unsubscribe Sent with ArtfulMail
