I want to wish you Happy Holidays! I've returned late Saturday evening from my most recent painting trip and haven't painted a bit in the last two days, as I prepare for Holiday at Home.
I want to share the view of this image in my newsletter to any of my subscribers. This was such a peaceful little drive I went on to explore Lago Vista area of the Penninsula that juts out into Lake Travis, near Austin, Texas.
I think this was my son's favorite pastel, and I was so very blessed to have him join me for a few days as he relaxed from his semester end of college.
This area was very much in a natural state, having been sold, yet not yet built upon. I did a couple of large pastels in and around this area, as well as some looking out my window at my condo in The Shores of Lago Vista.
Also painted on my trip were many small oils. for a 7 day trip, I felt it was pretty balanced between simply enjoying what I looked at, and interacting with my environment, as well as painting it.
I was lucky to have found a 40lb bag of natural seeds that I usually use for my hens, still in my car. It was a delight to feed the herd of deer that regularly show up in the condo area, and knowing that in some small way, they were helped to prepare for winter.
Over the next several days, I will upload an image a day, yet will expect most will also be enjoying their families as close as they can this season, and hoping for a happy and healthy New Year.
I will see if I can post one a day for a while, I have some that I painted locally near Lavonia Park, that still have yet to be posted, as well.
Until next year, Keep painting, keep loving your deer ones, keep the joy and flame of warmth in your heart this Holiday Season!
Warmly,
