When leaving Texas, and traveling to Virginia, leaving my eldest in charge of house sitting, dog care, (His Dog), and the occasional driving of his brother's car,(He himself is a metro guy who works remotely and his bro is still in college), I didn't know what to expect.
As an artist, I find inspiration everywhere. What better place though, than historic areas? I toured some museums, saw some sights, and some people I hadn't seen in years at a reunion for High School.
I've added art to my body of work, (some even from the town of my High School), and done so at a leaisurely pace, alternating inspiration, with work and visitation.
Galleries for my children's line is what I am trying to focus on this trip, even though I've been painitng other types of art since begining my trip.
I just ran across an artwork that I am amazed I found in a gallery in Virginia, and I hope to see in person this week!
I also plan on attending more museums, shops, restaurants and more people watching to work out some figural things in my head before trying to paint them.
So the finding, I "found", will be revealed after visiting the gallery and "if" they give me permission to tout it in my newletter. It's another awesome painting, (yet this one by another artist of a historical figure).
Until then, just know the life of an emerging artist continues to excite her.
Keep Smiling and overcoming the little aggy things that we hate, by just moving them over, and getting on with our Joy.
Amy Carter Ishmael, out and about this week, on location. (PS Although this portrait isn't of anyone I've met in person. I noticed the resemblece to myself, only it took me two years to grow hair according to my mother, and this, "Little Lass" as I dub her, has curly hair.
